POLICY ON USE OF SCHOOL CELLULAR PHONE

In December 2011 upon the upgrading of the school's mobile internet modem, the school also acquired a cellular phone as part of the package deal. The cellular phone currently in possession of the school is a NOKIA C2 -
- This has prompted the need for the school to have a policy on the use of this phone.
- This cellular phone will strictly be used for school and school related matters only.
- NO PRIVATE CALLS can be made using this phone. A written record must be made whenever this phone is used.
- Only the Principal and Deputy Principal (in Principal's absence) will have access to this phone. Calls and SMS's to parents can be made using this phone, however permission must be sought from the Principal/Deputy Principal for this.
- The Principal/Deputy Principal will screen the need for the use of this phone and can deny the use of this phone based on sound reasoning. The Principal/Deputy Principal will make the call or send the SMS's only. In the event of the school's Telkom land line being out of order then this cellular phone will be used for EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY.
- This cellular phone will at all times be in the possession of the Principal or Deputy Principal (in Principal's absence).
